On a hillside above Lake Maggiore stands a 1960s house consisting of three concrete slabs stacked on top of each other, based on the principle of Le Corbusier's Domino House.

Between the slabs are two glass-walled apartments, connected by an external spiral staircase. Peter Heimer designed two fitted kitchens for both flats according to their space requirements: a combination of a fitted kitchen and a free-standing cooking and dining counter in the larger flat, and a fully functional mini kitchen in the smaller flat.

The cooking and dining counter in the larger flat is located in an asymmetrical alcove with a window overlooking the lake.

The compact kitchen in the smaller flat echoes the curve of the spiral staircase with its round recess above the sink.

The work surfaces are made of terrazzo or white Corian.
